Use cases
AI Lawyer for individuals
For people without legal training who want to understand a rule, a document or a process before they decide what to do next.
Your situation
Most people meet the law in fragments: a clause in a rent agreement, a letter that uses words they have not seen before, a form that asks for documents they do not have, a process with steps nobody explained. Legal research and paperwork are slow and hard to follow for people without legal training, and it is not always clear whether a question is routine or needs an advocate.
AI Lawyer is planned for exactly that moment: when you want to understand where you stand in general terms before you spend money, sign anything or decide on the next step.
How AI Lawyer is planned to help
The plan follows four steps.
- Ask your question. Describe the situation in plain language, in general terms.
- Get information with sources. AI Lawyer is meant to explain the relevant rules and show where the information comes from, so you can read the source yourself.
- Work on your documents. For routine documents, it is meant to help you draft or review them step by step.
- Talk to an advocate when needed. For advice on your own matter, you are directed to a qualified advocate.
Step-by-step guidance is also planned: a walk through a legal process one step at a time, in general terms. All of these features are planned; none of them is built.
What to expect, and what not to expect
Expect plain language, sources you can open, and a clear point at which the tool stops and an advocate takes over.
Do not expect advice on your own matter, a prediction of how a case will end, or a promise that the research is complete. AI Lawyer will provide legal information and document help only. If your question is whether you should sign, reply, file or go to court, that is a question for a qualified advocate.
Your documents and your privacy
Confidentiality is a core design requirement, but how and where documents will be stored is not decided yet. Until it is, please do not rely on AI Lawyer for anything confidential. This website itself collects nothing you type; the contact page lists phone numbers only. When you call, please do not share details of a legal matter, names of parties or documents.
Next step
AI Lawyer is coming soon. To hear when it opens, join the waitlist by phone. To see the boundary the product keeps, read what it plans to do and what it will not do and the disclaimer. The blog has general guides, such as what to organise before you meet an advocate.
