AI Lawyer for law firms and in-house legal teams
For advocates, associates and in-house counsel who spend a large part of the week on routine research and routine documents.
Your situation
Even professionals spend a lot of time on routine documents and research. In a law firm that time is often an associate's day; in an in-house team it competes with the work the business is waiting for. Much of it is the same kind of task repeated: finding where a rule is written, preparing a first draft of a standard document, keeping papers for a matter in order, and tracking what the business needs to file or keep.
How AI Lawyer is planned to help
The features planned for professional users are:
- Legal research with sources shown, so that every point can be traced to where it was found and checked by the person who relies on it.
- Contracts and documents: help drafting and reviewing routine documents and contracts.
- Case organisation: the documents and notes for a matter kept in one place.
- Compliance checklists for the businesses an in-house team supports: what needs to be filed or kept, and when.
Law-firm licences are among the pricing options being considered; pricing itself is not decided. Every feature is planned, and none is built.
What to expect, and what not to expect
AI Lawyer is meant to save time on routine work, not to replace professional judgement. It will not promise that research is complete or correct, which is why sources are shown with each answer. It is not a law firm. Its own escalation path, which directs people who need advice to a qualified advocate, is planned; how it may be shown is still an open question for legal review. There is no directory, referral or fee arrangement.
Confidential documents
Client and company documents are confidential, and professional duties about them are strict. How and where AI Lawyer will store documents is not decided yet. Until the design is settled and published, please do not use it, or this website, for anything confidential. This website does not collect what you type.
Next step
If your firm or team would like to hear when AI Lawyer opens, or to tell the team what it would need, call from the contact page. The blog's article on legal research with sources sets out the approach the research feature is planned around.
